Infant formula, delivered from the supplier in prepacked sterilized bottles, is stored by the fourth floor Service Center. Service Associates are responsible for maintaining prepackaged formula stocks in the NICU patient rooms.

Specialized formulas (including caloric supplements) are mixed in the Dietary Department and delivered to the nursery.

Formula may be used for four hours after opening at room temperature and for 24 hours if kept refrigerated. Formula from the supplier must have the date and time opened written on the bottle. Any formula without date and time written on it should be discarded.

Once opened, Polycose liquid should be refrigerated and is good for 24 hours.

To feed, formula should be warmed to room temperature by placing the container in warm water.
