Interim summaries with change of service

Given the complexity of many NICU patients, to facilitate communication and adequate documentation, interim discharge summaries should be generated monthly upon changes in housestaff service. The intern/resident pair are responsible for creating computer-generated interim discharge summaries for all of their patients who have been admitted to the NICU for > 4 days.   These summaries should be readily available on the chart for the oncoming team.
