Occasionally there will be discrepant readings between the oxygen concentration knob setting on the ventilator and the oxygen analyzer reading. Currently, the oxygen analyzer is felt to be more accurate by respiratory therapy and bioengineering. Nurses should record the oxygen analyzer reading as the FiO₂ the baby is receiving.
